Happy Mother’s Day!
God Be Kind to Mothers
God, be kind to mothers with cookie jars to fill,
and funny lullabies to sing when dusk blows down the hill!
Who scrub the small children’s faces when early school bells ring;
and let a boy bring puppies home, or bugs, or anything.
God, be kind to mothers when it is candle-time
and children’s rounded voices say prayers in ordered rhyme.
May there be special blessings at night, when houses sleep,
on all the mothers everywhere who have child hearts to keep.

I am so thankful to know so many wonderful mothers! My Gap Sisters are one fabulous group of women and they inspire me in my motherhood journey! My sister is one of the most fun mothers I know! She just inspires me every time I talk to her! She lets me steal her party ideas and makes me laugh. I’m blessed to have these women in my life!
My own precious mother is my very best hero. I love her more than words can even describe! She has taught me to pray, and pray and pray some more. She loves Jesus with her entire self and does daily take up her cross without even one complaint. I love her infectious giggle and I love her resilience. Despite so many trials (losing 5 children…I can’t even imagine how she made it through that one, near bankruptcy when they lived on their Vermont farm, a business that was a monster, teaching school and taking care of everyone in her life…) she has remained positive and encouraging. Oh how I love the fact that she is devoted to every person in her inner circle and that I am one of those people! Mom, I love you so very much and I count myself so blessed that God chose to put me in your nest!
I am thankful for my own precious children that have been placed into my nest for me to mother. (Though two of them don’t really need much mothering now)…I am so grateful that God has given me each special one! I love being their mom more than anything else in my life. They are my absolute joy! They are my olive trees that point me to God’s blessings…
Psalm 52:8 ”I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.” Psalm 128:3b “Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table.”
