Scripture Memory Verse for Week 3 Study Beth Moore Breaking Free

Posted by on May 2, 2011 in Gap Sister's SECC | 0 comments

Hi Girls,
We’ve had a lot of time on this lesson!  Here is the scripture memory verse for the week:
Isaiah 64:4 “Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.”

I LOVE this verse!  There is no other God…none!  Keep plugging, sisters!  We can DO THIS!

Scripture Memory Verse for Week 2 Study Beth Moore Breaking Free

Hi Girls,
Here is the verse we should all be working on for the week 2 course work:
“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he.  Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.”  Isaiah 43:10

Happy memorizing!

Scripture Memory Verses

Hi Gap Sisters,
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.  I think I need to do more on the “If My Words Abide In You” aspect of my life!  I am pretty good on the abiding in Jesus part.  Jim Cymbala (Brooklynn Tabernacle pastor) says that Prayer IS abiding…but  I often grapple with how to actually make my old brain RETAIN the scriptures.  I can read them over the 30 times as is suggested with the claim that you will “then have it memorized” but somehow my brain says, “you will then have it RECOGNIZABLE” but not memorized.  So here is what I am doing.  I am writing my scripture for the week down on a card and I am carrying it with me in my purse.  Then, instead of listening to music in the car, I am either praying a prayer-snack or working on my verse for the week.

My verses for this week are: Jude 1:24, 25
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Gap Sisters…please limp along with me on this one, ok?  I need that moral support!

Don’t forget that we are going to the Ladie’s Christmas Tea again this year…it is December 9, 2008 at Southeast Christian Church. We will do something different this time and go to Susan Ballerstedt’s house first for dinner and then head over to church. We hope to see you all there!

Welcome to Gap Sisters

The Gap Sisters Group was born out of need to pray for my husband.  I started meeting with a friend to pray for our husbands and we would sneak into the “Bride’s Changing Room” at our church.  Slowly, word spread and before we knew it we were not just two people praying but a small group praying.  Eventually we were given a regular room to meet in and now, nine years later, we are a group of not just wives, but single women and moms that all come together to pray.  Prayer is our “thing”.  We support each other in prayer though out the week and we come together to labor in prayer on Sunday mornings.  Currently we meet in WC 255 at Southeast Christian Church.  If you would like to join us we start our meeting at 10:15 and now go to 12:00pm on Sunday mornings.  If you would like to start a Gap Sisters Group of your own, please email me and I’d be happy to give you some tips and advice.  I wish you the best on your journey with Jesus.  Make prayer a conscious, daily activity.  His presence is what you will find and worship will start to be an important part of your life.

Best wishes…in the service of our King…Vicki
